Grief & Loss

The Center for Grief Education and Support (CGES) at Seasons Hospice in Rochester, Minnesota provides grief and loss support. This welcoming setting provides a confidential and compassionate environment for our hospice families and anyone in our community.

All services are open to the public and are free of charge. Donations are gratefully accepted.

 
 
 

What We Provide

A team of highly trained staff and volunteers offer a variety of grief support and educational programs to help individuals and families navigate and understand the many aspects of grief.  Services include individual and family counseling, support groups, community-based support, and educational workshops.

Support Groups

NEWLY BEREAVED

This group is for those who have experienced a death within the last year. It is offered twice per month on the first and third Thursday of each month from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m.

ADULT GRIEF

This group is for anyone who is in the process of adjusting and adapting to the loss of a loved one.  It is offered several times per year as a ten-week series.

PREGNANCY AND INFANT LOSS

This group provides a time for sharing for those who have lost a baby through miscarriage or stillbirth, at the time of birth or within the first month of birth. It meets once per month on the second Thursday of each month from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

SURVIVORS OF SUICIDE

This supportive, ongoing group for those who have lost someone close to them through suicide meets monthly on the third Wednesday of each month from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

PET LOSS

This group provides a supportive, non-judgmental environment for pet owners who have lost a pet through death to share with others who have experienced pet loss. It is offered on the second Wednesday of each month from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

DOGS AND DONUTS

A time where those anticipating the death of their loved one can gather together. Join us to gain support and understanding during this difficult journey. One of our Therapy Dog Teams will be present. 

Special Themed Workshops

MANAGING HOLIDAYS AND SPECIAL DAYS WITHOUT YOUR LOVED ONE

A workshop providing an opportunity to explore the difficulties associated with mourning during these special days. This group offers hands on tools as well as discussion focused on how others have navigated these tumultuous times. Offered in Spring and Fall.
